On 5 November 2007, M1 Support Services (M1) was one of an elite group of companies and Government employees to be recognized by the Department of Defense. As an award winner of the Inaugural Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Achievement Award, M1 was chosen from an exceptional group of nominated companies based on:
- Business Acumen
- High Level Competitiveness
- Rapid Growth
- Employment of service disabled veterans and veterans
- Contributions to the veteran and service-disabled veteran communities
According to Anthony Martoccia, Director for the Office of Small Business Programs for the Department of Defense, “These inaugural awards demonstrate the ability of disabled veterans to now take risks inherent to the organization and operation of a corporation that does business with the Department of Defense. By honoring these business leaders, we also acknowledge the sacrifices they have made while defending our nation in uniform.”
