William SheltPresident & Principal
Mr. Shelt has more than thirty years experience in the technical and professional services industry, utilizing technology applications and lean business processes to reduce customer costs and increase efficiency. He has proven success in planning, organizing and staffing globally dispersed operations to meet customer requirements, then directing and controlling company resources to achieve performance objectives.
While attending a FAA FAR Part 61 Flight School, Mr. Shelt helped launch a successful flight training software development firm. Since that time, he has been in business roles with increasing responsibility serving the government and commercial sectors for FlightSafety International, E-Systems, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and DynCorp International. He was actively involved in the sale and transition of DynCorp to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). As the Sr. Vice President, he was responsible for all new business efforts in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and North America resulting in a 23% annual growth rate and over $4B in new business in less than 3 years.
As co-founder of M1, Mr. Shelt has been directly responsible for business development, contract operations, finance, security and regulatory compliance as the company has grown from two employees to over 6500. He is also the President of two international subsidiaries of M1 Support Services in Germany and in Qatar.
Mr. Shelt has an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Master of Business Administration degree with specialization in International Business. During this time, he studied at the Ecole Superiuere de Commerce et Entreprises in Nantes, France, and earned recognition in Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honorary Society.
Kathleen HildrethManaging Director & Principal
Throughout her 30 year career in government and professional services, Ms. Hildreth has been a leader in winning and maintaining new business, maximizing customer satisfaction and implementing innovation. As co-founder of M1 Support Services (M1) in 2003, she has grown a successful services company from two employees to over 6500.
Prior to starting M1, from 2001 to 2003 Ms. Hildreth served as Vice President Business Development for DynCorp International, responsible for pursuing and winning new professional and technical service business worldwide. From 1991 to 2001 she performed in a wide range of jobs in marketing and operations for DynCorp including Program Manager, Contract Administrator, Logistics Manager, Capture Manager, and Proposal Manager. During her tenure at DynCorp, she was instrumental in winning over $7 billion of new and recompete business.
Operationally, she has managed Business and Logistics functions for individual Government contracts with as many as 450 employees and $100 million in annual revenue and currently oversees operations and quality for over 6500 employees worldwide.
During her 30-year career, Ms. Hildreth has also held various aerospace related engineering, logistics, maintenance, and business management positions for General Electric, Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army. A FAA commercial helicopter pilot, she served in the U.S. Army as an Aviation Maintenance Officer and Maintenance Test Pilot. She is qualified in the UH-1 and UH-60 helicopters.
Ms. Hildreth holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy and M.Ed. from Georgia Southern University.
Kevin DennyVice President of Contracts
Mr. Denny has over twenty-five years of experience negotiating and administering Government Service Contracts. His contract management expertise was developed while working both for large government services oriented corporations and smaller privately held companies.
Prior to joining M1 he was the Vice President of Contracts for URS Corporation (2002-2013) where he was responsible for cradle to grave contract/subcontract administration of $750M in annual revenue on domestic and internationally executed contracts with the Federal Government. Prior to that he was the Chief Financial Officer for a mid–sized privately held aerospace engineering company providing Government support services. In this capacity, he was responsible for P&L, cash flow, capital investments, maintenance of various credit facilities and banking relationships and also managed the Accounting, Human Resources, Contracts, Procurement, and Pricing departments. He began his career as a Payload Systems Engineer with McDonnell Douglas Corporation supporting the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) before being promoted into several positions of increasing responsibility associated with the financial management of Government contracts.
Mr. Denny has a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Texas A&M University and Master of Science in Finance from the University of Houston.
Tom ByrdVice President of Government Programs
Mr. Tom Byrd has thirty-five years of experience directing Department of Defense operations and programs for both public use and private use aircraft. His experience includes senior leadership, program management, and project management positions with twenty-five years of profit/loss and performance accountability in high paced, high demand, and highly visible positions.
Prior to joining M1 Support Services Mr. Byrd was Vice President, Government Programs and Operations at Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) and had senior leadership responsibility for the T-6A Texan II Production, Modification, and Logistics Support Programs, T-1 Jayhawk Sustainment Program, T-34 Mentor Support Program, several foreign military programs, and the Aircraft Modification Facility. Before joining HBC, Mr. Byrd served as General Manager L-3 Communications Aeromet, General Manager L-3 Communications Flight International, and Sr. Director of the L-3 Communication Integrated Systems Aircraft Services Business Unit. In 2002 Tom was awarded the highly coveted L-3 Communications President’s Award as the person making the single largest contribution to corporate growth and performance.
Mr. Byrd who is a Vietnam era Veteran, graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Flight Technology. Likewise, he is a graduate of the Defense Acquisition University Advanced Program Management Program and the Defense Acquisition University General/Flag Officer Program.
Donald GalliVice President & General Manager Fort Rucker Aviation Maintenance Services Program
Mr. Galli is a retired U.S. Army Colonel with more than 30 years of distinguished service. He most recently served as Senior Military Advisor and Assistant Program Manager of Aviation for the Office of the Program Manager of the Saudi Arabian National Guard. His extensive experience includes service as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Army War College, Chief of Staff at the U.S. Army Aviation Center, as well as Commander, 3rd Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade.
Prior to joining M1 in 2018, Mr. Galli was the Managing Director of Oshkosh Saudi Arabia responsible for leading Oshkosh’s operations and the full military and security portfolio of tactical wheeled vehicles, engineering and integration services, and life cycle sustainment solutions for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Galli has a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, a Masters of Science in International Relations from Troy University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
Thomas JohnsonChief Financial Officer
Mr. Johnson has over twenty-five years in financial management supporting companies specializing in Government Contracting. His financial management background includes working for large government contractors as well as smaller privately held companies.
Prior to joining M1 he was the Chief Financial Officer for Del-Jen, Inc (1997-2010) and held financial leadership responsibilities for the privately held company which included all financial accounting, treasury, audit, government accounting, employee benefits and IT oversight. After Flour’s acquisition of Del-Jen, Mr. Johnson continued on with Del-Jen/Fluor and supported further growth of the company through both acquisitions and organic growth.
Mr. Johnson was employed by ITT Systems (1983-1997) as their Assistant Controller overseeing the financial operations of Government Contracts through the US, Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. Johnson has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Seton Hall University, a Master Degree in Management from Jacksonville University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He also participates on the Board of Directors of Columbus Insurance Ltd. A Captive Insurer domiciled in the Cayman Islands.
Martin CraftChief of Business Operations
With over 16 years of Government business management experience, Mr. Craft has a broad background in finance, accounting and business management and has been responsible for the full spectrum of financial management including payroll, accounts payable, contracts revenue recognition, billing, and accounts receivable. Responsible for year-end program financial accounting audits with outside auditors, budgeting, capitalization and other financial support services, he has been instrumental in the design and effective management of employee insurance benefits and developed procedures for statutory compliance for quarterly tax reports, payroll deposits, monthly and fiscal year close-out. He ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Prior to joining M1 in 2005, Mr. Craft served as the Director of Business Administration for a $1B, complex, worldwide life cycle contractor support operation.
Mr. Craft holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
Jim WilliamsGovernment Program Manager
Mr. Williams has more than 35 years’ experience in the aviation industry with extensive experience in large fleet program management; forecasting, planning, and budgeting fleet maintenance; 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station operations; subcontractor management; planning and executing operational and maintenance activities; and monitoring program activity. His experience includes military commercial derivative aircraft as well as commercial (civil) fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft widely dispersed worldwide. Mr. Williams monitors evolving customer requirements, industry trends, and participates in proposal development for new and existing business.
Prior to joining the M1 team, Mr. Williams spent 33 years with L-3 Technologies as a Capture/Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Manager, and Regional Manager on Department of Defense and Federal Government programs. He has planned, supported, and participated in a variety of military and civil aviation operations domestically and internationally and has lived in Europe and Africa supporting customer operations.
Mr. Williams is a graduate of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. He started his aviation career in the US Marine Corps assigned to VMAT-102, at Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona.
